Naturopathy.

Naturopathy is a system of holistic medicine that acknowledges the healing power of nature and the instrinsic vitality and healing capacity of the body. Naturopathy seeks to determine the underlying causes of illness or imbalance, and to remedy these rather than just treating symptoms. In this way naturopathy is about wellness, not disease. It is also about you as a whole person, and appreciates the way all your body parts and systems are connected, and the way your lifestyle, diet and state of mind impact on your wellbeing.

nutrition.

Because we quite literally are what we eat, nutrition is the very foundation of good health. Paleo, Keto, Plant-based, Fasting, and food sensitivities - with so many different ways of eating out there, it can be so confusing to know what, and how, to eat! Asti will keep things simple and help you identify the best nutrition for your optimal health, energy and vitality.

High potency plant medicines blended just for you.

Asti has a full herbal dispensary in her clinic where she can blend individualised herbal medicines and tonic to suit your needs. Instead of choosing a pre-made formula off the shelf, Asti can select the specific botanical extracts that will help to support you in your wellness. Liquid herbal tonics are high potency and pure, and easily assimilated by your body.

Asti preferentially chooses where possible extracts made in New Zealand to the highest standards, preferably with organically grown, locally sourced plants.

Quality, tradition, phytochemistry.

‘Herbal medicine’ is the therapeutic use of plant preparations to prevent disease, enhance health and alleviate suffering.

Herbal medicine is also known as ‘plant medicine’ or ‘phyto-medicine’. It is the traditional medicine of all cultures and remains the most widely used system of medicine in the world today.

Herbal medicine expertise is grounded in empirical knowledge that has been transferred over generations. This centuries old knowledge is now validated by evidence-based standards, modern science confirms that medicinal plants help to reduce stress, improve sleep, enhance stamina, and aid digestion, immunity and detoxification. It is therefore no surprise, that plant medicine has been used continuously as mainstream medicines and household remedies across all times and all cultures to help people live a healthier life.

functional testing.

Sometimes additional testing is useful to help assess underlying causes of imbalance. This is especially true for hormonal health, digestive health and food sensitivities.

Asti utilises a range of functional testing services where needed, including:

DUTCH Testing

Dried urine testing for comprehensive analysis of sex hormones and adrenal hormones. Also tests for detoxification and methylation of hormones, as well as several organic acids and metabolites.

Food Reactivity Testing

Blood spot testing for IgG reactions to foods can be done in-clinic, or other options are available that are more suited to younger clients.

Organic Acids Test (OAT) Great Plains Laboratory

Urinary metabolites to evaluate vitamin and antioxidant levels, bacterial and yeast overgrowths, fatty acid metabolism, neurotransmitter levels, mitochondrial function, oxidative stress, detoxification, oxalate processing and other metabolic processes.

SIBO Testing

Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) can be diagnosed using a specialised breath test.

Zinc Testing

This is done with all clients in clinic to assess zinc status.

Omega-3 Testing

A simple blood-spot test can be done in clinic. This measures red blood cell omega-3 essential fatty acid status.

Many other tests are available as needed.
